Thank you so much for your warm and professional care of Elmo, our black and tan cocker, over the last few weeks. Thank you so much for the sensitivity and concern that you showed us during this difficult time.
We first met Elmo mid-November 1996 at the Guilford Co. Animal Shelter. He was about 7-months old and had just been surrendered the afternoon before. After seeing him shyly peer at us from a back corner of his kennel, Ken and I decided to visit with him. After the attendant brought Elmo into the visiting room he approached Ken, climbed on his leg, urinated on his thigh, and then curled up against Ken's chest. We were all on the way home in about 15 minutes.
His first night with us, he climbed on our bed and plopped down on Ken's pillow, looked up at us, and from that point on, he'd began his night, and many more night to come, to rest there.
We know you knew Elmo for only a short time and when he was not in the best of health. But, Elmo was a very happy dog, greeting his canine and human friends with delighted waggles and moans. As just one example, some years back, my brother and sister-in-law had a spitz named LadyBug who was extremely shy and would not venture more than a few steps from one place in the house. For Elmo that was unacceptable, so with his rump in the air and his behind wagging, he was able to coax her to come into the main part of the house and join the rest of the crowd, something that none of the rest of us had been able to accomplish.
In these last few weeks, each time we were able to bring him home we were thankful for the excellent care and treatment received. Your efforts gave us a bit more time with him - something we truly cherish and are extremely thankful. We are grateful that the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic was there for Elmo - it was always a comfort to know that we had a place to take him at night or on the weekends when he needed critical medical care and knowledgeable and caring veterinary health professionals.
Warmest regards, Ken & Elaine
Ghandi said that we must be the change we wish to see in this world. The night my husband and I brought in Buster allowed us to experience not only your expertise, but also the difference you truly make in providing animals and people with respect and dignity. Your professionalism and ethics were quite evident as you counseled us on taking the inevitable next step to really show our care for our beloved pet. Buster strayed in to our life and hearts. I had never, ever, loved a dog like I loved him. He was just that special!
Thanks again for your kindness, sensitivity and support. We will not soon forget this experience.
Sincerely,
Teresa and Roy H.

Thank you for all the hours, energy and caring you have put in to help save our little girl. Even though she has a long road ahead, she would not be here without the love you have shown her.
Many, many thanks,
Brad, Heather, and Allie A.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful care you gave to my dog Sheldon. It is so comforting to know there is a friendly and professional place to take Sheldon when our regular vet’s office is closed. I appreciate you all helping out when my Sheldon was not feeling well.
Thanks so much for all you do!
