Dr. Jason Streck
Dr. Jason Streck is the Owner and Director of the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic and Guilford College Animal Hospital and has been a Greensboro North Carolina resident since 1978. He completed his undergraduate coursework at Guilford College and NC A&T State University. Prior to attending veterinary school at Ross University, Dr. Streck served as Vice President of a fraud investigation firm, was an active board member at Guilford Day School (now Noble Academy), and he worked for 11 years as a veterinary technician. Jason and his wife Kristie have 2 children, David and Maggie.
The household is completed by 2 older lab mix dogs, Maddie and Katie, and a rescue mixed breed puppy named Mason.
Clinical Interests Include: Small animal emergency medicine, trauma surgery, neurology, dermatology, and internal medicine.

Dr. Jillian Cort
Dr. Jillian Cort graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Biochemistry. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University. Following graduation, Dr. Cort spent several years working in Raleigh, North Carolina as an associate veterinarian in small animal general practice. She was drawn to emergency medicine and began her emergency veterinary career at the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic in early 2011. When she is not working, Dr. Cort enjoys listening to live music and reading.
She is the proud owner of two cats, Pandora and Lennon, and a dog Madison.
Clinical Interests Include: Neurology, emergency medicine, and critical care.

Dr. Christi Hall
Dr. Christi Hall graduated from, NC A&T State University with an animal science degree prior to graduation from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completing clinical rotations at Virginia Tech. She has worked in small animal 24-hour practice since that time in Virginia and North Carolina. In July of 2012 she joined the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic and since has returned to 24-hour practice through AHVEC and GCAH. Dr. Hall enjoys spending time with family and friends and an array of outdoor activities.
She has three small dogs, Pooh Bear, Hunny Pot, and Frank, and one cat, Broomhilda.
Clinical Interests Include: Emergency medicine and trauma surgery, preventative and geriatric medicine, and management of chronic disease.

Dr. F. Foster Vernon (Practice Limited to Surgery)
Dr. F. Foster Vernon was born in Caswell County (Blanch, NC) and grew up on a tobacco and dairy farm. He completed his undergraduate coursework at NC State, earning a BS with a major in poultry science. He was awarded his veterinary degree (DVM) at Oklahoma State University before completing an internship at the University of Missouri. He then went on to complete a surgery residency at The Ohio State University in 1983. Since the completion of his surgical residency he has been a professor at Mississippi State University, owned a referral surgical practice in Texas, and briefly in North Carolina, and spent the remainder of his career in general practice, referral surgery, and emergency medicine and surgery right here in the Piedmont Triad. Dr. Vernon and his wife Barb have an adult daughter, Beth and they are proud grandparents.
Dr. Vernon accepts surgical consults and schedules procedures on Tuesday and Thursday mornings by appointment and is often available for emergency surgical cases on an on-call basis. Common surgical cases include complex fracture repair,hemilaminectomy and laminectomy for IVDD (intervertebral disc disease), TECABO (total ear canal ablation with bulla osteotomy), PU (perineal urethrostomy), and oncology surgery.
Clinical Interests Include: Complicated orthopedic, spinal, and soft tissue surgery.
Swen T. Samoska, DVM
Dr. Swen Samoska graduated from Clemson University with a B.S. in animal science with a concentration in veterinary medicine and a minor in biological science. He obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University. He spent the first 7 years of his career working in small animal general practice in Glendale Arizona before joining the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic family in early 2014. Dr. Samoska is a proud parent of 3 children; Shay, Elias and Endrik, 2 dogs; Samson and Indigo, 2 birds; Chanel and Monocle, a cat; Ninja and a leopard gecko named Godzilla.

Misty Maness - Practice Manager
Misty Maness has worked in the veterinary field as both a technician and a manager for over 15 years, working with several of the area’s top veterinarians and technicians. Misty was born and raised in Greensboro and now resides with her husband (Michael) and four children (Thomas, Abigail, Chloe and Zachary) in Star NC on the family farm where they raise beef cattle, chickens, and meat goats. To complete the family she also has 2 Aussie Shepherds named Artermus Gordon and Molly. During her spare time she enjoys sewing and quilting.
Brett Petersen- Client Accounts Manager
Brett made Greensboro his home in 2007 and joined AHVEC in the spring of that year. Originally from Southern California, Brett has over twenty years work experience in fields such as sales, customer service management, loss prevention, and special projects. His interest in Veterinary Medicine began in 2002 with the Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Teaching Hospital, where he worked in the large and small animal hospitals as a Veterinary Assistant and Storekeeper.
