Dr. Jason Streck

Dr. Jason Streck is the Owner and Director of the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic and has been a Greensboro North Carolina resident since 1978. He completed his undergraduate coursework at Guilford College and NC A&T State University. Prior to attending veterinary school at Ross University, Dr. Streck served as Vice President of a fraud investigation firm, was an active board member at Guilford Day School (now Noble Academy), and he worked for 11 years as a veterinary technician. Jason and his wife Kristie have 2 children, David and Maggie. The household is completed by 2 lab mix dogs (Maddie and Katie), and a short haired black cat (Isabelle).

Clinical Interests Include:
Small Animal Emergency Medicine, Trauma Surgery, and Neurology.

Dr. Laura Gill

After receiving her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University, Dr. Gill relocated to Greensboro from Houston, TX. Since then, she has completed a 1 year rotating internship in small animal medicine, surgery, neurology, and emergency medicine and worked for one year as a general practitioner. Dr. Gill now focuses exclusively on emergency medicine. In addition to her work, she has volunteered for various animal rescue groups, the Conservators’ Center for big cats, and has taught multiple pet first aid courses. In her spare time, Dr. Gill enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities and spending time with her dog and cat family.

Clinical Interests Include: Trauma and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Neurology

Dr. Jillian Keffer

Dr. Jillian Keffer graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Biochemistry. She obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George’s University. Following graduation, Dr. Keffer spent several years working in Raleigh, North Carolina as an associate veterinarian in small animal practice. She was drawn to emergency medicine and began her emergency veterinary career at the After Hours Veterinary Emergency Clinic in early 2011. When she is not working, Dr. Keffer enjoys listening to live music and reading. She is the proud owner of two cats, Pandora and Lennon, and a dog Madison.

Clinical Interests Include: Neurology, Emergency Medicine, and Critical Care.

Technicians

Misty Maness- Technician Manager

Misty Maness has worked in the veterinary field as both a technician and a manager for over 13 years, working with several of the area’s top veterinarians and technicians. Misty was born and raised in Greensboro and now resides with her husband (Michael) and four children (Thomas, Abigail, Chloe and Zachary) in Star NC on the family farm where they raise beef cattle, chickens, and meat goats. To complete the family she also has 2 Aussie Shepherds named Artermus Gordon and Molly. During her spare time she enjoys sewing and quilting.

Brett Petersen- Client Accounts Manager

Brett made Greensboro his home in 2007 and joined AHVEC in the spring of that year. Originally from Southern California, Brett has over twenty years work experience in fields such as sales, customer service management, loss prevention, and special projects. His interest in Veterinary Medicine  began in 2002 with the Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Teaching Hospital , where he worked in the large and small  animal hospitals as a Veterinary Assistant and Storekeeper. Brett  enjoys working with clients and their pets at AHVEC and  invites you to contact him should you have any questions or concerns.
